However, the brand’s reliance on these parts would end in 1990 when the company was purchased by Ford. Under Ford’s control, Jaguar’s reliability would steadily improve. By 2015, Tata Motors would own Jaguar and enable it to make a leap forward in quality control. So, is a Jaguar a reliable car that Edgewater drivers can rely on, now?
Are Jaguar Cars Reliable Now?
So, are Jaguars reliable cars now that the automaker is owned by Tata Motors? Tata Motors has rejuvenated the brand, in part, by requiring rigorous testing of each model. These tests include subjecting each model to exposure of -40ºF, then rolling the cars out at 90 mph in a 0ºF wind tunnel, while being sprayed with water, as well as testing the cars’ vibration, noise, and harshness to 766 mph. Tata Motors has also created a 5-year, 60,000-mile warranty to back up Jaguar vehicles, while also refreshing the brand’s recommended preventative maintenance schedule. On top of that, a position has been added to the board of directors that directly oversees quality control and customer satisfaction. So, are Jaguars reliable to drive on Crofton roads, today? Yes! Nowadays, the average Jaguar vehicle will last for around 150,000 miles or more!
